RHCCC holds to a memorial view of the Lord’s Supper (Communion). The communion meal is shared to all believers by Jesus in remembrance of His sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant. We believe Christ is present in this service as we partake in His meal together as one body. During the coronavirus pandemic, we will continue to take the communion meal at our homes during online services. The host pastor in the online service will direct you through properly receiving the communion meal.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What kind of bread/juice should be used? Consider purchasing specifically grape juice and plain crackers/bread for the communion meal. If you can’t find grape juice, any other juice will do. What’s important is focusing on the spiritual meaning of the elements.
- Can I participate without a pastor? We ask that you take the communion meal together in unity and solidarity during one of the online worship services directed by our host pastor.
- Can I take the communion meal by myself? Yes, but we do encourage you to join others through an online video platform to watch and engage in the service together.
- Is taking the communion meal online/at home ok? Yes, it is. When Jesus first modeled the spiritual tradition of communion, He did it in someone’s home. If you are a follower of Christ, you can take communion anywhere.
- Who can partake in the Holy Communion? For RHCCC, we request that only believers that have been baptized to partake in the Holy Communion. For children and youth (or any family member) not baptized yet, we encourage the parents to bless them and say a prayer for them.You may use the following Scripture to bless them: “‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
Prepare your heart before the worship service
Before the worship service, you may want to prepare your heart and reflect on the following:

Pray for the needs of the world, for your local community and for those close to you. End with the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)Add the following prayer:
Lord, in these days of mercy,
Make us quiet and prayerful;
In these days of challenge,
Make us stronger in you;
In these days of emptiness,
take possession of us;

open our hearts to the mystery of your cross.
