“This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about … “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).” (Mt. 1:18-23)

  1. Jesus Christ – Messiah, Saviour, Lord and King
    • Incarnation: God to us: Identification (Isa. 9:6; Phil 2:6-7)
    • Crucifixion: God for us: Justification (Gal 2:16; Rom 5:1)
    • Resurrection: God in us: Sanctification (I Thess. 5:23-24; Col 1:27)
    • Ascension: God with us: Glorification (Mt 28:20; 13:43)
  2. The Forward-Back Kingdom (Luke 12:31-38)
    • The reward of the future changes the view of the present (v.32)
    • How we live today reflects what we believe to come (vv.33-34)

“Be strong and courageous…, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Josh 1:9)
His Present to us is His Presence. Is there room in your heart for Him? (Rev. 3:20)
