Mission Statement

An Overview of the Marriage Enrichment Ministry

Vision

To uphold the kingdom vision in the area of marriage and to help couples to focus concretely on marriage building and to develop and maintain healthy marital relationships based on an integrative approach of theology, psychology and spirituality.

Mission

To encourage and assist both married and engaged couples to discover positive strengths in their marriage and to facilitate their growth to reach fuller potentials in building a strong marriage in accordance with biblical principles.

Goal

As a proactive, preventive and educational measure, the marriage enrichment program aims to encourage and facilitate married couples to build a strong marriage that addresses one’s needs and potentials in different developmental stages of life, from early adulthood to old age.

Objectives

To help couples to explore, understand and build a healthy marital relationship

To encourage and facilitate couples to review their marriage and to attend enrichment programs periodically through such activities organized/co-organized by this and other related ministries, such as Sunday School courses, seminars, workshops, day camps, overnight camps etc.

To assist couples (engaged couples at present) to develop their personal, couple and family goals in the light of biblical principles with emphasis on oneness in Christ (physical, psychological, social and spiritual)

To emphasize on personal relationship with Christ Jesus

To emphasize on both individual growth and marital growth

Programs

  • Marriage Preparation Workshop (for engaged couples)
  • Duration: September - November (13 sessions/year)
  • Pre-marriage Counselling Sessions
  • Marriage Ambassador Program (Experienced couple with happy marital relationship matched with a young couple in sharing resources and relational experiences for up to two years)
  • Enrichment Courses on Marriage and Family (Year-round Sunday School Sections)
  • Neighbourhood Marriage and Family Workshop/Seminar (yearly)
  • Marriage Camps/Retreats (June/July each year)
  • Marriage related activities/functions e.g. Valentine’s Night, Marriage Re-dedication
