Workplace Prayer
Work is a spiritual battle.
Be prepared.
We give thanks for the work that you do every day in the name of Jesus. Thank you for standing in the gap in your marketplace. We pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you. (Ephesians 1:18)
If you find these prayers helpful, feel free to share them with other Jesus followers. If the Lord opens a door for you to share it with a coworker, go ahead!
Prayer of Assurance for People @ Work

We all need to be assured of the work we do. The only problem is that commendations from supervisors, appreciation from clients, and even our own confidence, too often depend on profit, performance, efficiency and effectiveness. If you have ever felt lost, worried, depressed or stressed out at work, now is the time to pause. Be still and acknowledge the Lord of the marketplace. Use the following prayer guide with your prayer partner. While reading the prayer, insert the name of the other person. Use it also for personal prayer and meditation.

A Worker’s Prayer
Lord, thank you for trusting me with today’s tasks. Help me acknowledge you at every turn, through scripture, silent prayer, open prayer, acts of kindness or words of comfort. Help me deliver my best in all I do, and help me receive everyone with an open mind. Holy Spirit, convict me when I sin, warn me when I’m about to sin, and alert me to sin’s destructive power. Hold me close when I’m afraid. When the day is done, grant me trust in Your forgiveness. Assure me that You will multiply my good deeds and make up for my shortcomings. Help me trust in your protection that I may lie down and rest. As the dawn breaks, grant me a grateful heart as I wake up and dedicate the new day to You. Amen |
God with Us
The arms of God be around my shoulders, The touch of the Holy Spirit upon my head, The sign of Christ’s cross upon my forehead, The sound of the Holy Spirit in my ears, The fragrance of the Holy Spirit in my nostrils, The vision of heaven’s company in my eyes, The conversation of heaven’s company on my lips, The work of God’s church in my hands, The service of God’s people and the neighbor in my feet, A home for God in my heart, And to God, the Father of all, my entire being. Amen. (St Fursey’s Prayer) |
The Armor of God
As I begin this new day, I put on the belt of truth — so that all that I think and do will be on the basis of the truth of scripture; I put on the breastplate of righteousness — it is the righteousness of Christ and not the righteousness of my own works; I wear the shoes of the gospel of peace — the cross of Christ has reconciled me to God, and I am ready to proclaim the good news that all may enjoy peace with God through Jesus Christ; I take up the shield of faith — the faithfulness of Christ is my shield; I put on the helmet of salvation — I have been saved from sin, and God is bringing me to perfection in Christ; I take up the sword of the Spirit — the Bible is in my hands and my heart, and I trust in the Holy Spirit and the power of the Word. In the Name of Jesus, I ask to stand in the gap and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with prayers and petitions. (Ephesians 6:12-18) |
