Who We Are
RHCCC is a Purpose-Driven Church living out in balance the 5 purposes of the church : Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Evangelism (We call them Celebration, Consecration, Cultivation, Care and Communication) as well as using the following priority as our ministry roles : Purpose, People, Program, Property. We wish all brothers and sisters to invite their friends to our Church to experience the joy of a Purpose-Driven life.
Richmond Hill Christian Community Church (RHCCC) is an evangelical, multi-lingual, seeker-sensitive and life-development church striving to be a "Church for the Unchurched & the Committed." While the size of our church allows us to bring together resources for a wide range of activities and programs, a network of fellowships and small groups fosters warm relationships among members. It is in these small groups and fellowships that members find dear friends who become true companions in life. In RHCCC, we are all dedicated to the vision of building a church of Love, Missions, Life-development, Prayers and Services. Whether you are a seeker of truth or a Christian, we believe that you will find that love is alive, God is understood and Jesus Christ is Lord here. Through learning and serving in RHCCC, we hope you will enjoy the abundant life that God has promised you.
Our History
The history of Richmond Hill Christian Community Church (RHCCC) dated back to 1975 when it was known as Toronto Chinese Community Church (TCCC), founded by Rev. Dr. John Kao. In 1981, many members moved to Agincourt when the new church building was completed at the intersection of Birchmount and Sheppard. Four years later, the remaining congregation stepped out in faith under the visionary leadership of Pastor Sam Chan and the deacon board and moved northwards to a high school in the Yonge and Steeles area in October 1985 and renamed ourselves TCCC Yonge North.
The Yonge North congregation which totalled about 88 at the start, underwent a period of rapid build up between 1985 and 1989. It resulted in the miraculous purchase of the present church site in 1987. During the church building construction, the congregation relocated to the Bayview Secondary School nearby until the phase I project was completed in the summer of 1991.
God has indeed blessed us amazingly. Through effective ministries targeted at different age groups, the relentless dedication and cooperation of our members and pastoral team, more and more people are coming to Christ and grow in the Lord. Completion of the Phase II and III building projects have enabled us to minister to a much bigger community of seeker friends and Christ-followers.
